Alto Sax back to winning ways with first all-weather success Twice successful on turf, the Peter Fahey-trained Alto Sax scored for the first time on the all-weather when taking the Dundalk Stadium Group Deals Available Apprentice Handicap. Partnered by Nicola Burns, the Normal People Partnership-owned gelding weaved his way through runners to head Alex Belardo with over a furlong to race. Strongly pressed by Kitty Bear inside the last 150 yards, the 12/1 chance held on well to register a short head victory. Peter Fahey said: "I suppose the handicapper gave him a good oul chance there. He ran plenty over the winter and just was falling short. He's after dropping down to a nice mark now. "Nicola is a great rider and she is very strong in the likes of those races, so it is great to get her. "He'll have to switch to turf with the way things are. With him, I think things just have to fall his way. He's probably not one that battles and makes things happen. He'll tip away on turf." Additional reporting by Michael Graham.
