Ameerat snatches Guineas win Ameerat (11/1) got the better of a fantastic battle with Muwakleh to land the Sagitta 1000 Guineas at Newmarket today.The Michael Jarvis-trained daughter of 1996 2000 Guineas winner Mark of Esteem came with a sizzling run under Philip Robinson to catch Frankie Dettori`s mount (13-2) in the final 100 yards and win by a neck.Tonoca (10-1) finished a further one and three-quarter lengths back in third but favourite Karasta was always struggling and only beat one of her 14 rivals home.Ameerat was having her first outing of the season, like Golan - also an 11-1 chance - who had obliged 24 hours earlier in the colts` version of the race.Robinson, whose other success in this race came aboard Pebbles back in 1984, admitted that he had been confident of his mount`s chances in the run-up to the race.'I was so pleased to get it over with,' he said.
