Bacchanal tops De Vere weights Nicky Henderson`s Bacchanal (11st 12lb) heads the weights revealed today for the Stg£100,000 De Vere Gold Cup at Haydock Park on February 23rd.Third in the King George VI Chase at Kempton on Boxing Day, the eight-year-old, a leading contender for the Tote Gold Cup, is likely to reappear in the Aon Chase at Newbury at the weekend.Another Newbury possible, Henry Daly`s Behrajan, is next in the weights on 11st 10lb, followed by Ted Walsh`s Rince Ri on 11st 9lb.Martin Todhunter`s Kingsmark and Jonjo O`Neill`s Legal Right have both been allotted 11st 4lbs, with Hennessy Gold Cup winner What`s Up Boys on 11st.Paul Nicholls looks to have a strong hand with Shotgun Willy (11-1), Earthmover (10-10), and Ad Hoc (10-8).Shotgun Willy is another De Vere entry who could be on show in the Aon, a race in which he defeated First Gold last season.Last year`s winner of the Haydock race, Frantic Tan, trained by Nigel Twiston-Davies, has been allotted 9-12, and a notable entryfurther down the weights is Ian Balding`s Martell Grand National favourite Moor Lane, who has been given 9-5.
