Banks faces three on return

Breeders` Cup winner Banks Hill will face just three rivals when she returns to action at Longchamp on Sunday.

Khalid Abdullah`s outstanding filly capped a brilliant 2001 campaign with a triumph in the Breeders` Cup Filly And Mare Turf at Belmont Park and now reappears in the Group One Prix d`Ispahan.

The Coronation Stakes winner is up against Godolphin`s Best Of The Bests (Frankie Dettori), the Prix Ganay second Execute and fellow local hope Poussin.

Trainer Andre Fabre reports Banks Hill in good shape for the extended nine-furlong contest which shares top billing with a French Oaks trial, the Prix Saint-Alary.

John Gosden`s Prix Marcel Boussac winner Sulk bids for her second French Group One win in the race. Dettori takes the ride.

Gay Kelleway`s Chester winner Grey Pearl, the mount of Olivier Doleuze, is the second British runner.

Leading contenders for the 10-furlong race are Fabre`s Summertime Legacy, Ana Marie and Bright Sky.

The latter pair were the first two home in the Prix Vanteaux last month. Summertime Legacy was a below-par fifth on that occasion, but should improve.

Godolphin run Wareed in the Group Two Prix Vicomtesse Vigier, over an extended 15 furlongs, which also features Geoff Wragg`s Gallery God and Mark Johnston`s Double Honour.

Wareed (Dettori) has Group Two-winning form at the course in a race which has attracted the smart home stayer Generic.

Yutaka Take teams up with Gallery God, coming off a bold effort in French Listed company, with Kevin Darley on Double Honour.
