Beau Michael Makes It Three On The Bounce

Beau Michael confirmed his status as one of the leading Irish contenders for the Triumph Hurdle when making all the running to land the Grade 2 Winning Fair Juvenile Hurdle at Fairyhouse on Saturday.

The Aido McGuinness trained son of Medicean jumped well throughout and saw off the challenge of Silverhand to justify odds of 6/4 and score by three-lengths.

Davy Russell was on board to record his 107th winner of the season and afterwards he was very pleased with the performance, ?That was great, he was tough and he went better with a bit of company. He jumped well and galloped all the way to the line. I am over the moon.?

Speaking over the phone from a skiing holiday in Austria Aido McGuinness said, ?He had a slight setback that forced him to miss a bit of work and that is why he missed Leopardstown but he is a very slick jumper and we will definitely go to the Triumph Hurdle unless it comes up very good ground.?

The winner carried the colours of the Total Recall Racing Club who are made up mainly of prison officers from Mountjoy and speaking on behalf of them was David Corr, ?We are delighted he did that very well. The Triumph Hurdle is the plan unless it comes up firm I don?t think we would go. But we will speak to Aido in the morning and confirm the plans but I would say we will be too high up in the weights for the Fred Winter after that.?

William Hill make Beau Michael a 20/1 shot from 33/1 for the Triumph while Sean Graham also go 20/1 from 25/1.
