Beef Or Salmon and Edredon Bleu to clash in Clonmel.

Trainer Michael Hourigan has indicated that his stable star Beef Or Salmon is to make his seasonal debut in the Morris Oil Chase at Clonmel on Thursday, where he is likely to clash with English raider Edredon Bleu.

Hourigan had intended introducing Beef Or Salmon in the November Handicap at Leopardstown recently although the recent dry spell has meant that ground conditions did not favour the gelding. Hourigan stated 'although I havent checked out the track at Clonmel, the ground should be fine for him.'

Meanwhile, Edredon Bleu´s jockey Jim Culloty has described Henrietta Knight´s charge as being 'in great old form' for the eagerly awaited race, while adding 'there might not be too many runners and basically there is nothing else for him until the Spring.'

Intelligent, winner of the Midlands National at Uttoxeter last season, is also expected to make the line-up.
