Beef Or Salmon on course for Gold Cup after pleasing in racecourse gallop.

Michael Hourigan has reported that his stable star Beef Or Salmon is on course for a crack at the Cheltenham Gold Cup after working satisfactorily at Limerick racecourse this morning.

According to Hourigan, the gelding “worked well this morning and jumped five fences well. It suited Timmy (Murphy) to school him as he would be leaving as soon as the races are over this evening.” He also added that “he will have another racecourse gallop before going to England.”

Beef Or Salmon, Ireland’s best hope for Gold Cup honours has suffered from a muscle problem in his back since disappointing in the Ericsson Chase at Leopardstown over Christmas, although he remains a 14/1 chance with most firms for the Cheltenham showcase.
