Betfair SP - Successful Debut

Betfair launched their SP product today covering the seven races at Southwell and report that the day went without a hitch.

The returned SP was close to 100% for each race and a level stake on each winner would have returned a greater profit than with conventional bookmakers.

Betfair have not given details of the volume of bets matched at their SP, so whether or not the prices would have stood up to bigger stakes is questionable.

The Betfair SP product will be available on all UK races from tomorrow and extended to Irish horse racing in about two weeks.
