Bookies Suspend Guineas Betting Following Rumours About Teofilo

Bookmakers William Hill have suspended their betting on this years Stan James 2000 Guineas following speculation about the well being of ante-post favourite Teofilo.

Jim Bolger's Champion two year old had been regarded as a real live prospect for the triple crown this season, but following unusual betting patterns the bookmakers were forced to suspend their markets for the Stan James 2000 Guineas and Vodafone Derby. Hills had rated the star colt as a 5-4 chance for the 2000 Guineas and a 5-2 chance for the Vodafone Derby. William Hill also quoted odds of 8-1 about the unbeaten son of Galileo becoming the first horse since Nijinsky to win all three triple crown races.
