Bookies taking no chances with Weld/Smullen Bookmakers have opened a series of markets on the upcoming Galway Festival which starts on Monday. With Galway maestro Dermot Weld a short price to be leading trainer over the course of the seven-day meeting, punters can also back who they think will be top Flat jockey and jump jockey. Weld is 1-10 to be the main man again, with Willie Mullins (15-2) and Tony Martin (8-1) likely to be his closest pursuers. Weld is 11-8 to train between five and eight winners, 2-1 for nine or more and 9-4 to have less than five. For those who like a speculative punt, Aidan O'Brien is 33-1 with RaceBets and he has plenty of entries in the maidens. Joseph O'Brien is a shorter price at 25-1. With Weld such a warm order, it is no surprise Pat Smullen is 2-7 favourite to be leading Flat jockey with two Ballydoyle riders, Donnacha O'Brien (7-1) and Seamie Heffernan (10-1), next best. Ruby Walsh is 15-8 favourite over jumps with Mark Walsh 100-30 in the absence of Barry Geraghty.
