Breeders` Cup schedule revealed

The Breeders` Cup World Thoroughbred Championships are to be staged at Arlington Park in Chicago for the first time next year.

And the provisional schedule will also take the prestigious fixture to the newly-built Lone Star Park in Texas in 2005.

Arlington has had a chequered past, having been rebuilt after burning down in 1985 and then closing for a time in the late 1990s.

Lone Star Park, which would be the first Texan track to host the meeting, only opened in 1997.

The Breeders` Cup, whose 18th staging will be at Belmont Park in New York next month, is also pencilled in for Santa Anita in California in 2003 and Churchill Downs in Kentucky 12 months later.
