Breeders` Cup target for Sakhee

Sakhee, impressive winner of Sunday`s Prix de l`Arc de Triomphe-Lucien Barriere, will have his next race at the Breeders` Cup meeting at Belmont Park later this month, the colt`s owner Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum announced on the Godolphin website today.

The four-year-old will be entered in both the Breeders` Cup Turf and the Breeders` Cup Classic on October 27th, and a final decision as to which race he will run in will be made later.

Sakhee is to join Godolphin`s other Breeders` Cup contenders, Fantastic Light and Noverre, on a flight departing Stansted to New York tomorrow morning.

The trio are to be shipped to Belmont Park after touch-down in New York and spend 24 hours in quarantine.

They will then remain in isolation in the Godolphin Barn at Belmont Park

Sakhee has emerged as a leading Breeders` Cup contender with brilliant victories in both the Juddmonte International at York in August when he took the prestigious contest by seven lengths from Grandera prior to his Longchamp victory where he slammed a high-class field by upwards of six lengths.

Following this latest success Sakhee has been given a provisional mark of 133 which currently makes him the top-rated older horse in Europe.

Coral, have introduced Sakhee as a 4-5 favourite for the Turf.
