Carlisle Off This afternoon´s meeting at Carlisle has been abandoned due to a frozen track. Clerk of the course Jonnie Fenwicke-Clennell was due to inspect the course at 8am but he was forced to take an earlier look after temperatures dropped well below freezing overnight. He said: "We have abandoned. We went down to minus five last night and it´s still minus four at the moment. "The Met Office predicts a maximum temperature of one degree and that´s at 3pm, so the frost is not going to come out." The loss of the fixture will be bad news for the five intended Irish runners - Spitfire Sortie, Strylea, Urowells, Man Of Repute and Desert Bay.
