Cecil dismisses retirement report Henry Cecil has no immediate plans to retire and today moved to clarify his position following recent speculation over his future.Newspaper reports had suggested he was to quit training next year. However, in a statement to PA Sport, Cecil said: 'I would like to put right what I regard as a misleading news headline in the Racing Post today.'I said I was looking forward to next season, but could be down on horses, as apart from Prince Khalid Abdulla, so many of my owner-breeders have cut down, are selling their colts, and only keeping the odd filly.'I have to accept that, at the moment, it is a daunting task to expect to take on the main powers in racing. But hopefully I will come up with a good horse or two, and will take my future participation from there.'Training is my way of life, and the last thing I wish, is to call it a day. If I have the horsepower there is nothing to say I will not continue for a number of years.'Recent rumours had linked Manton trainer John Gosden with a move to Cecil`s Warren Place stables in Newmarket. But Cecil said: 'Just because I went on a couple of days holiday with my son to Portugal the rumours started. But I can state categorically that the yard is not for sale and that fellow trainer Mr John Gosden has not been to look at it.'
