Cecil Duo Top Oaks Field

Henry Cecil will be double-handed with Passage Of Time and Light Shift as he seeks an eighth victory in the Vodafone Oaks at Epsom on Friday.

His talented pair were among 14 runners for the fillies´ Classic at the final 48-hour declaration stage.

Both fillies won their trials in good style. Long-time favourite Passage Of Time enhanced her claims with a smooth win in the Musidora Stakes at York while Light Shift impressed in the Cheshire Oaks.

Ed Dunlop, who struck with the brilliant Ouija Board three years ago, has a leading contender in Dalvina.

The daughter of Grand Lodge, unbeaten in two starts, booked her place on the Downs with a six-length stroll in the Pretty Polly Stakes at Newmarket, the same route Dunlop chose to take with Ouija Board.

Aidan O´Brien, with three Oaks triumphs to his name, has declared all his four - All My Loving, Cherry Hinton, Nell Gwyn and Peeping Fawn ? while Four Sins, trained by John Oxx, takes the Irish contingent to five.

The unbeaten Measured Tempo represents the Godolphin team while supplementary entry Kayah puts her 100% record on the line for Ralph Beckett.

Sir Michael Stoute chases a third success in the race with Dance Of Light while 1000 Guineas third Simply Perfect represents Jeremy Noseda.

The line-up is completed by the Barry Hills-trained Sues Surprise and Darrfonah from Clive Brittain´s stable.

Silkwood was the only withdrawal at the final declaration stage.

Punters have steamed into the Cecil pair in recent weeks as the betting public hope for a return to the glory days for the Warren Place maestro.

'Henry Cecil´s record in the Oaks is second to none, and although his last winner in the race came in 2000, punters haven´t forgotten how good he is, and have backed both Passage Of Time and Light Shift accordingly,' said Coral´s David Stevens.
