Chance unhappy with Flame Creek ride.

Trainer Noel Chance yesterday expressed his dissatisfaction with Seamus Durack after the jockey eased down Chance’s Flame Creek in the closing stages of the Bewleys Hotel December Festival Hurdle, costing connections second place.

Chance stated “I was happy with the way the horse ran but I wasn’t happy with the jockey mistaking the winning post, which cost us E8,000.”

Although the stewards interviewed Durack, they found that the jockey’s actions were not the cause of Flame Creek losing second place.

Flame Creek, who finished behind 66/1winner Golden Cross in the race, is now likely to return to Leopardstown on January 25 for the AIG (Europe) Champion Hurdle.
