Charlton Unveils Set Options Roger Charlton is considering the John Smith's Stakes at Newbury or the totesport Cambridgeshire at Newmarket for Third Set.The four-year-old has won his last three races in great style, shooting up the handicap as a result. And although Charlton would like to run him at Headquarters, the prize money on offer at Newbury and the possibility of soft ground means he could first take in the John Smith's Stakes.'He started the year running over six but I get the impression that he has the physique and shape of a horse who will actually stay a bit further,' said Charlton.'I think it is worth exploring the idea that he will stay nine furlongs in the Cambridgeshire or 10 furlongs in the John Smith's, which is a 0-105 at Newbury on September 22.'My gut feeling is that he will stay because he is very relaxed.'The other ingredient which is difficult to judge is the going. If the ground is fast at Newbury ? and there is £63,000 on offer to the winner ? it is possible we could get soft ground for the Cambridgeshire and we would be kicking ourselves if we missed Newbury.'It is a difficult one. If he was lucky enough to win at Newbury it would make his prospects of winning the Cambridgeshire more difficult.'He's won a lot of money already and I don't think one can be greedy and expect to win both,' Charlton told At The Races.(C) PA Sport
