Cheltenham Target For Vic
Connections of Charlie Hall winner Our Vic have suggested Cheltenham's Letheby And Christopher Chase could be the next port of call for the talented eight-year-old.
The Grade Two event, formerly known as the Pillar and registered as the Cotswold Chase, boasts a prize fund of #100,000 and takes centre stage on Prestbury Park's January 27 fixture.
Our Vic has not been seen since slamming subsequent Rehearsal Chase victor Neptune Collonges by seven lengths back in October, but is reportedly in top trim at home.
And while future running plans are far from set in stone, connections are still keen to have a crack at jump racing's blue riband event in March.
'Our Vic is very, very well and we've thought about two or three races for him, but we're actually very limited where we can run him,' owner David Johnson explained.
'All being well, we'll probably now go for the Pillar and then obviously go on to the Gold Cup if he stays in one piece.
'Hopefully he will and he's very well, but Kauto Star has been very impressive.
'Our Vic won the Charlie Hall very well though and the form has been franked so he'll give a good account of himself wherever he goes,' he told At The Races.
