Classy Entry For Vodafone Rose Bowl

The #75,000 Vodafone Rose Bowl, which is run over 10 furlongs and 18 yards on Friday, June 1, has attracted 40 entries including the Andy Turnell-trained Blue Bajan who triumphed in the [email protected] City & Suburban Handicap over the course and distance at the Spring Meeting on April 25.

David Elsworth has entered Snoqualmie Boy, winner of the Listed Hampton Court Stakes at Royal Ascot last term and 16th in the Vodafone Derby, while Mark Johnston has engaged Rosebery Stakes winner Luberon, the Group Three-placed Road To Love and Listed winner Nakheel.

Godolphin trainer Saeed bin Suroor has entered a classy quartet. Hinterland won the Vodafone Mile at Epsom last season when trained by Michael Jarvis and is joined by Count Trevisio, Emirates Skyline and Familiar Territory.

The entry also includes the Richard Fahey-trained Benandonner and the Ed Dunlop-trained Tabadul, third and fourth to Blue Bajan at Epsom last time, while the progressive Hassaad could represent William Haggas.

The Clive Brittain-trained Lake Poet won the [email protected] Great Metropolitan over a mile and a half at Epsom Downs on April 25, and is entered, as is last year's fourth Kings Quay, trained by John Quinn, who was 11th to Motivator in the 2005 Vodafone Derby.
