Connections Consider Etlaala Options

Etlaala is set to remain at sprint distances with connections considering the vcbet Nunthorpe Stakes or the William Hill Sprint Cup as his next possible target.

Once considered a Classic prospect by trainer Barry Hills, Etlaala disappointed in the Craven Stakes in April when trailing home last behind Democratic Deficit.

Connections then dropped him in distance and the Selkirk colt has started to hit top form, having filled third place in the Group One Darley July Cup last month.

He is now set to race at York in two weeks´ time or at Haydock on September 3.

'We´ve left him in the Nunthorpe,' said Angus Gold, racing manager to Hamdan Al Maktoum. 'The original plan was to wait for Haydock, but we´ll see.

'We haven´t made a decision yet.'
