Cup plan for Florida Pearl

Willie Mullins expects to have at least five runners at the Martell Grand National Meeting later this week - with Florida Pearl more likely to go for the Martell Cup on Thursday than the Melling Chase the following day.

After watching Davenport Milenium bounce back to form in the Westend Retail Park Novice Hurdle at Fairyhouse this afternoon, Mullins outlined his plans for the big Aintree meeting.

Alexander Banquet, who carries the same colours as Davenport Milenium, those of Mrs Noel O`Callaghan, will be his representative in Saturday`s Stg#500,000 Martell Grand National with Barry Geraghty aboard.

'Alexander Banquet is in good shape and I told the owner that Davenport Milenium is hopefully just their first winner of the week,' Mullins observed.

'I had a quick look at the entries for the other major chases before I came racing and my first reaction was that Florida Pearl will probably go for the Martell Cup on Thursday (over three miles, one furlong) although he is in theMelling Chase over the shorter trip (two miles, four furlongs) as well.'

'It`s likely Time For A Win will take his chance in the John Hughes Trophy, and I will also be sending Ballyamber and Boneyarrow for novice hurdles during the meeting,' Mullins added.
