Curragh-Bound Qasi In Top Trim Al Qasi pleased connections in his exercise work ahead of the Patrick P O'Leary Memorial Phoenix Sprint Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday. The four-year-old was second in the Hackwood Stakes at Ascot last month and hopes are high he can put up another good performance in the Group Three contest over six furlongs.'Al Qasi definitely runs in Ireland on Sunday. They've had some rain, which will suit him as he prefers a bit of cut,' said trainer Peter Chapple-Hyam.'He is in very good form and I was delighted with his last run when he was only beaten by a very good horse in Balthazaar's Gift.'He seems to have come forward again since that run and he worked well this morning,' the Newmarket trainer told www.peterchaplehyam.com.Al Qasi is one of nine British possibles among 14 five-day confirmations. They include Mark Wallace's Benbaun, Assertive from Richard Hannon's stable and Moss Vale, trained by Dandy Nicholls.Heading the home team are John Mulhern's Osterhase and Evening Time, trained by Kevin Prendergast.(C) PA Sport
