CURTAIN TIME OBLIGES FOR CECIL Henry Cecil broke his duck for the new season at the second attempt when Derby contender Curtain Time obliged in the Museum Maiden Stakes. The trainer, who also saddled the better-fancied Arabie, and Complete Class was winning the race for the seventh time in 13 runnings. Curtain Time (8-1), who defeated Rasid by two and a half lengths, was partnered by Willie Ryan with Cecil`s number one jockey Richard Quinn preferring Arabie. The son of Sadler`s Wells is now as short as 14-1 (Victor Chandler) for the Vodafone Derby. 'His leg blew up and he`s been on antibiotics. He`s missed 10 days work and he got a bit tired - that why`s he drifted towards the rails,' said Cecil. 'He`s a nice horse and should improve a lot on this.' Tote Cherry-Downes, representing owners Greenbay Stables, said: 'We hope he`ll be Sadler`s Wells` first Derby winner, we`re convinced he`ll stay the trip. 'He`s likely to go for the Dante (at York) and he might run in a conditions race first.'
