Daliapour heads home challenge

Daliapour, the Coronation Cup and Hong Kong Cup winner, spearheads the eight-strong home challenge in the Group One Audemars Piguet Queen Elizabeth II Cup at Sha Tin on April 22nd.

The Hong Kong Jockey Club also revealed today that three other Ivan Allan-trained runners, Housemaster, Oriental Express and Indigenous, are also guaranteed a run.

Oriental Express won the race in 1998, whereas both Housemaster and Indigenous boast placed efforts in the mile and a quarter feature.

Brian Kan, successful last year with Industrialist, is aiming his Hong Kong Derby winner, Industrial Pioneer, who was named Sobriety when trained by Fulke Johnson Houghton, at the race.

Also selected are Idol and Helene Vitality, the Hong Kong Gold Cup 1-2, and Electronic Unicorn.

A revised international list is topped by France`s admirable 1999 winner Jim And Tonic, who is coming off a battling win in the Dubai Duty Free.

The five other intended overseas runners are: Emission (Aus), Caitano (Ger), Silvano (Ger), Kaapstad Way (NZ) and Sobieski (UAE).
