DARLEY BOOKED FOR MELIKAH Kevin Darley has been booked to ride Melikah for Godolphin in Sunday's Kildangan Stud Irish Oaks at the Curragh. The rider, who is among the leading contenders for this season's jockeys' title, has ridden a Classic contender for Sheikh Mohammed's operation before, finishing sixth in the Vodafone Derby aboard Hatha Anna. Melikah has only seen a racecourse twice, finishing third behind Love Divine in the Vodafone Oaks with Kalypso Katie, who she is set to meet again, just a neck ahead of her. Darley said today: "My agent told me I had the ride this morning - I'm very, very pleased. "I've ridden for Godolphin before but it's nice to be thought of for such a prestigious race. "I think she has a good chance, she has just a neck to make up on Kalypso Katie, so who knows?" Melikah's stablemate Teggiano, second to Miletrian in the Ribblesdale Stakes at Royal Ascot on her seasonal debut, will be ridden in the Classic by Richard Hills.
