Dettori Gives Up York Rides

Frankie Dettori gave up his three rides at York yesterday and will be out of action until the weekend in an attempt to shake off the flu.

Despite being under the weather for two weeks, Dettori partnered Derby winner Authorized to a scintillating success in the Juddmonte International at York on Tuesday.

However, he is not feeling well enough to fulfil any further short-term commitments, meaning he missed the ride on Ebor third Scriptwriter.

'He's been suffering from the flu for the last week and a half and he went to see his doctor,' said Dettori's agent Ray Cochrane.

'His doctor has advised him to just have a couple of days off and to take it easy. Hopefully he should be back at the weekend.'
