Dobbin booked for Ballistic Henrietta Knight has booked Tony Dobbin for the ride on outsider Go Ballistic in the Tote Cheltenham Gold Cup.The booking of Dobbin finalises Miss Knight`s jockey plans for the Festival highlight on March 14th with Jim Culloty on Best Mate and Richard Guest partnering Lord Noelie.'We are very happy to get Tony. He`s ridden the horse before on several occasions,' said the Wantage trainer today. In fact, Dobbin and Go Ballistic are Gold Cup regulars having competed together three times with a record of second, fourth and pulled up.Dobbin was in the saddle when Go Ballistic belied his odds of 66-1 in running See More Business to a length in 1999 when the gelding was trained by David Nicholson. The combination had finished fourth behind Mr Mulligan in 1997 but Go Ballistic was pulled by Dobbin when Looks Like Trouble took the latest running of the Gold Cup two years ago.The 13-year-old only joined the Knight yard this season after having spells with Alan King and Richard Phillips when Nicholson retired. But Dobbin is looking forward to teaming up with his old friend.'He ran well the other day in the Pillar Chase at Cheltenham. He loves it round there and seems to save his best for Cheltenham. I`ve been second on him in a Gold Cup and fourth as well,' the northern-based rider said this afternoon.'He`s at the wrong end of the age scale, but he`s still full of enthusiasm.'He must be a gem of a horse to own, he never runs a bad race.'He seems to go on most ground as well and hopefully he`ll run well.'Go Ballistic is 50-1 with the sponsors and William Hill for the Gold Cup.
