Dream Eater prefers Jersey 2000 Guineas fifth Dream Eater is set to miss the St James´s Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot next week with trainer Andrew Balding preferring a tilt at the Jersey Stakes. The grey Night Shift colt was beaten just under five lengths by Henrythenavigator in the Newmarket Classic but is unlikely to renew rivalry with the dual Guineas winner as he is likely to drop in trip to seven furlongs. Balding is set to finalise his decision before the weekend. He said: "I would say it is a probability he will drop in trip for the Jersey Stakes. We´ve got the two options and I´ll make a decision in the next 48 hours. "I was thrilled (with his run in the Guineas). He was lacking a prep run as well and obviously the form has been franked since. "He´s in good nick and worked very well on Wednesday. I´m sure whatever race he runs in he´ll perform with credit."
