Dream win for Given

Jessica`s Dream gave emerging English trainer James Given a handsome return on his first ever venture into Irish racing when she landed the Group Three Ballyogan Stakes at Cork this afternoon.

Well supported in the market from 9-4 to 7-4, the four-year-old did not disappoint trainer Given and those who made her favourite as she landed the 80,000 Euros prize.

Locally born Michael Fenton, who has done so well in England, was oozing confidence on the favourite in third place and waited until approaching the final furlong before sending his mount to tackle and pass the eventual runner-up Miss Beabea (7-1) by half a length with the 12-1 chance Newpark Lady finishing well for third money less than a length further away.

'This is my first runner in Ireland and it is a lovely prize to win.

'Now we are looking forward to running Jessica`s Dream at Royal Ascot in the King`s Stand Stakes and she should go well if she gets the cut in the ground that she enjoyed here,' said trainer Given.
