Eagle Mountain Heads Irish Derby Betting

Bookmakers William Hill have installed Vodafone Derby runner-up Eagle Mountain as their 4-5 favourite for this Sunday's Budweiser Irish Derby at the Curragh. The talented son of Rock Of Gibraltar is one of 12 entries that have been left in the prestigiouis twelve furlong contest.

Eagle Mountain is joined in the line-up by four of his stable mates, Alexander Of Hales, Soldier Of Fortune, Spanish Harlem, and Yellowstone. Other notable entries include Shamdinan, who was by third home in the French Derby, and the supplemented Boscobel, who was an impressive winner in the King Edward VII stakes at Royal Ascot last week.

William Hill's spokesman Tony Kenny commented 'Eagle Mountain is a fairly short price at 4-5, but with Kieren Fallon set to take the ride, it's almost guaranteed that he'll go off a shorter price on the day' He Continued 'The Irish punters love Kieren and there's no doubt that he'll get a heroes welcome if he picks up the prize money at the Curragh on Sunday'
