Eddery hit with suspension

Jockey Paul Eddery was hit with a 10-day ban today after a hearing of the Jockey Club`s disciplinary committee.

The rider was called to Portman Square after committing his sixth breach of Instruction H17 - `jockeys riding to their draw` - within 12 months when riding Bond Domingo at Nottingham on April 16.

The committee considered evidence from Eddery and viewed recordings of the race.

The jockey admitted that he was in breach, having ridden towards the inside rail before reaching the marker poles, and was banned from May 23 to June 2.

Charlie Egerton was also fined a total of #850 after a prohibited substance was found in a blood sample taken from Killusty after he had finished first at Market Rasen last November.
