Finsceal Beo bids for Guineas Double

Finsceal Beo, Arch Swing, Treat and Indian Ink, first, second, fourth and fifth respectively in the Newmarket 1000 Guineas earlier this month are set to clash again in the Boylesports Irish 1000 Guineas on Sunday at the Curragh.

Finsceal Beo, just touched off in the French equivalent subsequent to her Newmarket success, bids to regain the winning thread and the Jim Bolger trained filly faces thirteen opponents in the Group 1 Classic. Other notable entries include Alexander Tango,the unbeaten Boca Dancer and the Aidan O'Brien trained pair of Diamond Necklace and Peeping Fawn. Also entered is Dermot Weld´s Truly Mine who will carry the colours of last year´s heroine Nightime.

The Group 1 Tattersalls Gold Cup could prove to be the race of the weekend with last year´s Budweiser Irish Derby hero Dylan Thomas, seeking to complete a hat trick of victories this season following wins at the Curragh and Longchamp. Aidan O'Brien's star faces 11 possible challengers including last season´s Boylesports Irish 1000 Guineas winner, Nightime, the unbeaten Danak and English raiders, Youmzain and Notnowcato.

The Airlie Stud Gallinule Stakes is a recognised trial for the Budweiser Irish Derby and Sunday's Group 3 contest has attracted fourteen entries, six of which also hold entries in Ireland's premier Classic. These include Capital Exposure, Halicarnassus, Prince Erik and the Aidan O'Brien trained trio of Alexander Of Hales, Spanish Harlem and Trinity College. In addition, there are two other British trained challengers in Big Robert and Yeaman's Hall for this 10 furlong contest.

The ground at the Curragh remains good (good to firm in places on the round course). The weather forecast up to Friday is for sunshine and well scattered showers. Sunday´s eight race programme starts at 2pm,and there is a Jackpot Pool guarantee of ?15,000.
