Flagship heads Victor Chandler weights

Flagship Uberalles, three-times winner of the Mitsubishi Shogun Tingle Creek Trophy, heads the weights on 11st 10lb for the #60,000 Victor Chandler Chase on January 12th.

The eight-year-old, trained by Philip Hobbs, carried the same weight two years ago in the Ascot feature when he failed by just a neck to give 24lb to Nordance Prince.

He was then trained by Paul Nicholls, who is responsible for the next in the handicap, Fadalko on 11-5. He was beaten nine lengths in third place by Flagship Uberalles at Sandown.

Nicholls is responsible for six of the 30 entries for the two-mile event announced today.

They also include Rockforce (10-1). The 10-year-old has been sidelined with a serious leg injury since completing a four-timer in the Mitsubishi Shogun Ascot Chase in February 2000.

Heading Martin Pipe`s strong entry is Wahiba Sands (10-5). He lowered Best Mate`s colours in the First National Gold Cup over two miles three and a half furlongs here last month.

Other interesting entries include Paul Webber`s promising young chaser Redemption (9-12) and the two Irish possibles - Killultagh Storm (9-4), trained by Willie Mullins and Arthur Moore`s Fadoudal du Cochet (8-13).
