Fortune facing lengthy ban Jimmy Fortune will learn his fate at a hearing of the Jockey Club`s disciplinary committee at noon tomorrow. The jockey was referred to Portman Square after being found guilty of careless riding at Doncaster on Friday and he could face a lengthy riding ban.His referral was automatic as he had accrued a total of 17 days of suspensions for causing interference in the previous 12 months. The Doncaster stewards considered that he had not taken sufficient measures to prevent his mount, Bowlers Boy, from hanging into Sir Francis, ridden by Jason Weaver, a furlong out in the UK Coal Lionheart Handicap.Fortune`s previous riding offences for interference within the last 12 months were: two days for careless riding at Sandown on May 28th; one day for careless at Sandown on July 6th; three days for minor irresponsible on July 7th; two days for careless at Bath on July 26th; two days for careless at Newmarket on October 5th; two days for careless at Newmarket on October 18th; five days major irresponsible at Newmarket on November 2nd.
