Frost cliams Sedgefield card Officials at Sedgefield have been forced to call off this afternoon`s meeting when the expected rise in temperature failed to materialise. The stewards held an inspection at 7.00 a.m. after the temperature dropped to -2C overnight and they decided to look again at 9.30 a.m. with a forecast rise to 8C.But clerk of the course James Hutchinson explained: 'I`m afraid the course hasn`t passed the inspection and we`ve deemed it unfit for racing as it is still frozen in places.'It`s very disappointing but let`s hope for better luck next time.'Sedgefield is the 24th jumps meeting to be lost this season but only the second due to frost.
