Fundamentalist Out Of Rearranged Chandler

Nigel Twiston-Davies has ruled Fundamentalist out of the rescheduled Victor Chandler Chase due to concerns that his gelding does not operate as effectively on a right-handed track.

The Victor Chandler was switched to Sandown next Saturday after the abandonment of Saturday´s card at Cheltenham.

Twiston-Davies said: 'He will probably go for the Game Spirit at Newbury but before making a final decision, I want to talk to his jockey Carl Llewellyn.

'It would have made no sense whatsoever in taking him to Sandown as he can´t operate going right-handed.'

A winner over hurdles at the 2004 Cheltenham Festival, Fundamentalist emerged the leading novice over fences early last season before suffering an injury.

He was last seen finishing well in arrears of Mister McGoldrick in the Castleford Chase at Wetherby in December on his first racecourse appearance since January 2005.
