George Heads O´Brien Eclipse Team

George Washington will lead Aidan O´Brien´s four-pronged assault on the Coral-Eclipse at Sandown on Saturday week.

Last season´s 2000 Guineas and Queen Elizabeth II Stakes winner will be Ballydoyle´s principal hope of outmanoeuvring brilliant Derby scorer Authorized.

O´Brien said: 'George came out his last run well, as did Duke Of Marmalade ? and the plan is to run both along with Archipenko and Admiralofthefleet in the Eclipse on Saturday week.'

Breeders´ Cup winner Red Rocks will bypass the Eclipse, however, having returned a dirty scope two days after finishing fourth to Manduro in the Prince of Wales´s Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Trainer Brian Meehan told the Racing Post: 'Red Rocks will miss the Eclipse and the King George.

'However, as we´ve said all along, his number-one target will be to attempt back-to-back wins in the Breeders´ Cup Turf.'
