Gibraltar to face six at Curragh

Sagitta 2000 Guineas winner Rock of Gibraltar will face just six rivals - including three stable-companions - in the Irish equivalent on Saturday.

The Aidan O`Brien-trained colt, part-owned by Sir Alex Ferguson, was among seven final declarations this morning for the Entenmann`s-sponsored Curragh Classic.

He will be ridden by Michael Kinane, who missed Newmarket through suspension, but no jockey has yet been confirmed for O`Brien`s other runners Century City, Della Francesca and Nostradamus.

O`Brien has won three of the last five runnings of the one-mile race, and saddled the first three home last year.

Jimmy Fortune rides sole British challenger Foreign Accent, a John Gosden-trained three-year-old who finished seventh in the Greenham Stakes at Newbury last month.

Johnny Murtagh is on John Oxx`s Ahaanabad and Pat Smullen rides Dermot Weld`s Sights On Gold.
