Godolphin Pleased With Italian Recruit

Saeed Bin Suroor has given a positive report on Ramonti, who is likely to make his first appearance for the Godolphin team in Saturday´s Juddmonte Lockinge Stakes at Newbury.

The five-year-old entire used to be trained in Italy and proved himself more than useful last season, winning several top races including the Group One Premio Vittorio di Capua in he beat Notability, who is now his stablemate, by two and a half lengths.

Suroor said: 'We had him in Dubai and I like the horse ? he has shown he is nice and honest in the mornings. He is entered on Saturday and we will have a look.'

Meanwhile, Godolphin´s Vodafone Oaks candidate Measured Tempo is to test her mettle in the Swettenham Stud Fillies´ Trial Stakes at the track the day before.

A general 10-1 shot for the Epsom Classic, she won her only start at Newmarket last season.

Bin Suroor added: 'I like her and she had a good winter in Dubai. She works well and we hope to see if she is good enough to run in the Oaks.'

Measured Tempo was also entered in this week´s Tattersalls Musidora Stakes at York but Bin Suroor explained: 'We just think Newbury will suit her.'
