Gorman Continues in Fine Form Jim Gorman is enjoying an excellent season having had some lean times in the past and the Dubliner saddled winner number five of the campaign when Tosach Nua made it third time lucky in the opening Fonacab Auction Maiden at Down Royal. With Royal Ascot hero, Kevin Manning in the saddle, the 15/8 favourite led in the final quarter mile and the son of Hawkeye had his race won from over a furlong out, going on to beat the morning price market mover, Imprudent Miss, by two and a half lengths. The fact that Gorman bred the juvenile in partnership with A J Poulton will have obviously added to his satisfaction at the success.
