Gowran passes inspection

Racing at Gowran Park this evening was given the go-ahead following a successful early-morning inspection.

Officials at the County Kilkenny venue staged a precautionary check due to the threat of waterlogging.

However the situation was not as bad as initially feared and the eight-race all Flat card, featuring the Listed Hurry Harriet Stakes will go ahead as scheduled.

'The ground is heavy, but it wasn't too wet a night and they were happy enough to give it the green light,' said Turf Club press officer Cliff Noone.
