Haatef Considered For Irish Guineas Haatef could bid to atone for his no-show in the Stan James 2000 Guineas by competing in the Irish equivalent at the end of the month. It is believed the fast ground may not have suited the Kevin Prendergast-trained colt when he finished 10th to Cockney Rebel in the Classic at Newmarket on Saturday. However, he is still in the Boylesports-sponsored Irish equivalent at the Curragh on May 26.'He was a little disappointing in that Mr Prendergast was really pleased with him going into the race and thought be might run a bit better,' said owner Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum´s racing manager Angus Gold.'Declan McDonogh said he was never particularly happy and felt it might have been the ground.'I know Kevin thought it was a bit too quick for him. I was surprised seeing as he´s by Danzig, I thought he would handle it.'We´ll see how he is in the next couple of weeks before we make any decision.'The Irish 2000 is still a possibility. We´ve got to work out whether he stayed or not,' Gold told Channel 4 Racing. (C) PA Sport
