Harrison fall accidental

Stewards in Hong Kong have today ruled that the fall in which David Harrison suffered serious injuries in a Sha Tin sprint last week was accidental.

During the inquiry at Happy Valley, in which Harrison`s father attended as his son`s representative and as an observer, two jockeys were interviewed.

However, after hearing all the available evidence from John Egan, who rode Stylish, and Anton Marcus, the rider of Romantic Symphony, the fall was deemed accidental.

Bruce Hutchinson, trainer of Harrison`s mount My Chief, also confirmed that his horse was ridden by Harrison in accordance with his instructions.

A statement released by the HKJC read: 'In all circumstances, the stewards agreed that Romantic Symphony, Stylish and My Chief had been ridden and positioned in a conventional manner, and that the occurrence was accidental.'

Harrison, who was taken into intensive care, underwent a neck operation on Tuesday. His condition is said to have improved since the accident.
