HIND STAYS AWAY

Gary Hind is to delay his return to Britain in the light of the foot and mouth crisis and poor weather, which has affected the start of the British turf Flat season.

The freelance jockey is currently riding in the Middle East and has elected to extend his contract for a further three months.

His agent Peter Harris explained: 'Gary phoned a few other jockeys to ask what they ought he should do and then he phoned me and I said he ought to stay out there while he is doing well.

'He has had a lot of success in Qatar and Kuwait and he rode at the Dubai World Cup meeting last weekend.

'There is no point in his coming back when he is making money out there and meetings are falling by the wayside over here.'
