HRI PROPOSE ARBITRATION FOR DUNDALK DISPUTE At its meeting on Monday 24th September 2007, the Board of Horse Racing Ireland considered the current situation in relation to the bookmakers' ring at Dundalk Racecourse. The Board expressed its disappointment that the matter had not been resolved between the Irish National Bookmakers Association and Dundalk at this point and decided to invite both parties to submit the dispute to arbitration by an independent third party to be appointed by Horse Racing Ireland. This arbitration would include all aspects of the current dispute at Dundalk and the arbitrator's decision would be binding on both parties. The Board also recommended that, should the parties agree to arbitration, interim arrangements for the betting ring at Dundalk would be determined by the HRI Betting Division in consultation with all parties. A letter inviting both parties to arbitration has been issued to Dundalk and the Irish National Bookmakers Association and their response is awaited.
