Hughes Targets World Domination

Hardy Eustace is on the road to staying honours following his game victory at Ascot on Saturday.

The dual Champion Hurdle hero showed he was no back-number when holding off Afsoun by half a length in the Coral Ascot Hurdle.

Trainer Dessie Hughes plans to bring the 10-year-old back to the Berkshire track for the Long Walk Hurdle on December 22 before looking towards the Ladbrokes World Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.

'He's back home and he's fine. It was a good run from him, he hasn't lost it yet anyway,' said Hughes.

'He'll probably go back there (Ascot) for the Long Walk and then we'll aim him at the World Hurdle.

'That looks like it now ? I reckon he should stay.'

Hardy Eustace, three times a winner at the Cheltenham Festival, can be backed at 10-1 for the World Hurdle in March.
