Joe Set For Feltham Date

Joe Lively is set to try to boost his growing reputation in the Nigel Clark Feltham Novices' Chase at Kempton on St Stephen's Day.

The eight-year-old, trained by Colin Tizzard, is on a hat-trick after recording impressive victories at Newbury and Cheltenham this month.

Following his convincing all-the-way success at the latter track on Friday, he is on course for this three-mile Grade One event in which his stable companion Leading Authority was also among 10 entries.

'Joe Lively is going to go and Leading Authority will wait for Exeter on New Year's Day,' said Tizzard.

'If it was to rain really hard, or if Joe Lively were to step on a stone, then we would run Leading Authority.

'Joe Lively is at the peak of his powers and has taken his last two races really well.

'He's eight years old coming on nine. This is the period in his life we might as well have a go at the big races.'
