La Cucaracha Misses Nunthorpe La Cucaracha will not be bidding for a repeat win in Thursday's Group One VC Bet Nunthorpe Stakes at York after pulling a ligament.The five-year-old mare returned to form with a bang at Goodwood three weeks ago winning the Group Three Audi Stakes in thrilling fashion but this setback means she will be unable to return to the scene of her finest hour.However, the injury is not thought to be serious and the Betfred Sprint Cup at Haydock on September 2 is still under consideration.Trainer Barry Hills said in a statement to PA Sport:'Unfortunately La Cucaracha will miss the Nunthorpe at York on Thursday as she has pulled a ligament.'Hopefully she might be back for the Betfred Sprint Cup at Haydock on Saturday week.'We are particularly sorry she is missing the race as her owner Guy Reed is a Yorkshireman.'?
