Lailani on American mission

Ed Dunlop`s Lailani bids to extend her winning sequence to seven in the $750,000 Grade One Flower Bowl Invitational at Belmont Park on Saturday.

The Kildangan Stud Irish Oaks and Vodafone Nassau Stakes winner jetted into New York last Sunday and remained in quarantine at Aqueduct before travelling to Belmont on Tuesday.

William Knight, Dunlop`s assistant, said: 'I`m happy with the way the filly travelled and she`s coming in a fit horse. If she runs well, we`ll try the Breeders` Cup Filly And Mare Turf.'

Jerry Bailey`s mount is part of a field of seven which includes the smart French import, England`s Legend, from the Christophe Clement yard.

The filly completed her hat-trick with a seven length romp in the Grade One Beverly D Stakes over a yielding Arlington Park surface.

Godolphin`s Mutafaweq (Pat Day), the Canadian International winner, is one of eight declared starters in the 750,000 Turf Classic Invitational.
