Landseer set for Royal Ascot

French 2000 Guineas winner Landseer is on course to run at Royal Ascot although a final decision on which race he is to go for has yet to be made.

'He will go to Royal Ascot for either the St James`s Palace or the Golden Jubilee so he could end up taking on either Rock of Gibraltar or Johannesburg,' the colt`s trainer Aidan O`Brien said today.

'I don`t have a problem with my horses taking each other on. It`s the horses that people see racing consistently at the highest level that make the best stallions. I don`t think it does any harm for a horse to get beaten.'

Landseer captured the Coventry Stakes at the Royal meeting last summer.
